Marquage enzymatique

L'incorporation d'atomes ¹⁸O dans une extrémité C-terminale de peptides est apparue comme l'une des stratégies de marquage utilisées en protéomique quantitative comparative. Le succès de cette technique de marquage enzymatique est dû en partie au coût relativement faible de ¹⁸O d'eau, l'augmentation de masse résultante du poids moléculaire pour un peptide « lourd », et la co-élution de ¹⁸O/¹⁶O paires de peptides dans une expérience de spectrométrie de masse (MS) basée sur la chromatographie liquide (LC).
