US EPA UCMR Method Standards
US EPA UCMR 4 Method Standards
As part of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) enacted in 1996, the fourth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 4) was published on December 20, 2016, and includes 30 chemical contaminants that are required to be monitored by public water systems between 2018 and 2020. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published analytical methods that outline analysis parameters for the target analytes. Additional information about the parameters and guidelines of UCMR 4 can be found on the EPA’s website. Read more.
CIL now offers standards and standard mixtures for select methods in UCMR 4 to assist researchers with their testing needs.
UCMR 5 PFAS Standards
Under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issues a new list of unregulated contaminants to be monitored by public water systems every five years. The latest list falls under the fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5), which includes 29 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) as well as lithium. The monitoring period will run from 2023 through 2025 and allows for the use of established EPA methods, as well as methods developed by consensus organizations. Read more about UCMR 5.
CIL offers native PFAS standards for all the 29 targets outlined in UCMR 5, along with many stable isotope-labeled versions for use as internal standards.
