Benzene-d6 (C6D6)

Did you know deuterated benzene (benzene-d6) was among the first deuterated products produced at CIL, and it remains one of the most popular deuterated solvents worldwide? This solvent allows for clear and accurate spectral analysis without overlapping signals, as its single residual 1H peak falls at 7.16 ppm. Beyond its use as an NMR solvent, benzene-d6 also plays a key role as a critical reagent in electronics and OLED manufacturing technology. In fact, late last year, CIL launched an innovative benzene-d6 recovery program for OLED display manufacturers where they can return depleted benzene-d6 for re-enrichment to virgin material quality, thus saving costs, reducing waste, and conserving scarce deuterium supplies.

CIL offers many options for benzene-d6, including two different enrichment levels, 99.5% and 99.96% (item numbers: DLM-1 or DLM-40, respectively), which are readily available off the shelf. It can be purchased as a neat solvent or with tetramethylsilane (TMS) for chemical shift referencing. It is also offered in a variety of packaging sizes to suit both lab-scale and production needs.
