¹³C₆-labeled sodium perfluoro-n-tridecanoate (PFTrDA)

We are very excited to announce the addition of a new ¹³C₆-labeled sodium perfluoro-n-tridecanoate (PFTrDA) standard to our PFAS product line! This long-chain PFAS compound has been used as a surfactant and wetting agent in various industrial applications and has been associated with adverse health effects such as carcinogenicity and endocrine disruption. PFTrDA is included in Directive (EU) 2020/2184 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2020 on the quality of water intended for human consumption and is of high interest around the world.

PFTrDA has been difficult to quantify utilizing other labeled compounds such as ¹³C-PFDoDA or ¹³C-PFTeDA, with results varying by 2-3 fold in certain matrices. This new standard will allow researchers to use a direct PFTrDA surrogate for true isotope dilution mass spectrometry, giving a high degree of accuracy and confidence in analysis and reporting.
